Disaster Recovery Service in Sunday Business Post

Savenet Solutions were featured in this weeks Sunday Business Post (07-12-08). The article focused on heightening the awareness of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity in the SME market. The majority of SME’s still have the perception that getting a Disaster Recovery solution in place is too expensive for them and they can cover the risks by doing just tape backups.

Irish businesses need to ask themselves ‘How do I mitigate the impact of risk? How do I recover from a disaster situation and restore my organisation to normal business operations?

The main risks threatening Irish companies are fire, flood, malicious damage and IT failure. Over the past 2 years, we have experienced increased flooding which has affected businesses in towns throughout Ireland. Over the last few weeks, fires have broken out in Eurocyles Airside, Maynooth College, Butterly Business Park and Heffernans Builders Providers in Kildare town. A lot of businesses fail to plan for these types of risk as they believe that it will never happen to them. SME’s in particular do not put enough focus on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning. In the past, Disaster Recovery services have been cost prohibitive for most SME’s. However, our new hosted Disaster Recovery service has changed that. Our solution is a scalable solution that can be tailored around the Companies requirements and budget. It ensures that all companies irrespective of size can protect their business in the event of a disaster without costing a huge amount.
